Sudoku Crescendo

A sudoku roguelike for iPhone and iPad

Every finished area makes the next point count more.

Each round hands you a half-filled sudoku, a handful of moves and a target score. You do not have to solve the whole board. You choose what to finish, and in which order.

The order is the game

A correct digit scores its value times two, multiplied by your current multiplier. Finishing a row, column or block raises the multiplier. So the question is never only what fits, but what should I finish first.

Wrong digits never stay on the board; they just cost you a move.

Relics bend the rules, in the open

After every round you choose one of three relics: a finished block counts double, a corner digit counts triple, the first mistake each round is free. You always see all three before you choose. The offer comes from the seed and never from a roll of the dice.

There are 45 relics; 16 are open from the start and the rest you unlock by playing, with the conditions listed. Every one of them is listed.

Where it stands

The game is playable end to end: nine rounds across three worlds with a boss in every world, nine figures, six instruments, eight Opus steps, a daily run, a daily etude with a par, a weekly challenge, an endless mode, a lesson, unlockable relics, English and Dutch. Art and sound are still being made, so the screenshots here show the game as it is today, drawn by the game itself. There is no release date, no price and no store page yet.
